On May 8 and 9, 2018, 24 Tunisian stakeholders active in the fields of wastewater treatment, irrigation and water management met with MADFORWATER researchers at the City of Science, in Tunis. The purpose of the meeting was to inform Tunisian stakeholders about the technologies and tools developed by MADFORWATER for wastewater treatment and irrigation, as well as for the analysis of water vulnerability. The meeting was also aimed at receiving stakeholder feedback on the effectiveness and suitability of these technologies and tools in relation to the local context of the different Tunisian governorates. The meeting was inaugurated by the Tunisian Secretary of State for Scientific Research, Mr Khalil AMIRI.
The meeting, characterized by a very active participation of Tunisian stakeholders, included in addition a group work dedicated to the development of strategies to overcome the main barriers to the agricultural reuse of treated wastewater.
